Friday Forum: Dinner Time

It's the second week of our Women's History Month-themed Friday Forums. This week we've got one of those questions that's bound to have interesting answers:

If you could have dinner with three women, from the past or present, who would you choose and why?

1. Audre Lorde - she is one of my all-time favorite poets and has taught me more about feminism, identity, and intersectionality than anyone else.

2. bell hooks - her books on Love have really revolutionized my thoughts on the subject.

3. Mary Oliver - another one of my all-time favorite poets. I have admired her work for years and would love to meet her.

1) Frida Kahlo - I think everyone who reads my blog knows by now that I have a slight obsession. I love her art, and her life fascinates me. Plus, she'd be a fun dinner guest!

2) Alice Paul - I've always wanted to know, in her own words, what it was like to accomplish what she did with so much resistance from the older women in the movement.

3) bell hooks - I think she's just brilliant. I admire her for everything she does and represents. I could just hear her go on for hours and be content with that.
