As we continue Women's History Month, we want to reflect on the activists who came before us and got us to where we are now.
With that in mind, how connected are you to the feminist/womanist/humanist movement? Do you identify with any of these labels? Why or why not?

Yes I do identify with the feminist label and movement. I work with women's advocacy groups, NOW or the National Organization for Women in particular. As a person with a disability I am working with the disability advocacy organizations in much the same manner. Additionally I conduct some of the same outreach with LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, and Trans-Gender) groups and people of color. I am in communication with many civil rights groups between New York City and Jersey City, and I am working to develop a consciousness raising forum in the coming months. My goal is to focus on the issues of discrimination as they relate to employment, health care, education, and media bias. In working with these civil rights groups I want to pursue the Obama Administration in advancing our progressive beliefs and garner improved support for the programs and services offered by these minority organizations through both better funding but also more visibility and outreach.
